The Rambouillet Mug is part of Gien's Prestige collection, a collection of hand painted items with meticulous attention to detail. This mug is covered in pretty foliage, on a cross hatched background. The shades of green and yellow pop off the neutral background, creating the perfect amount of detail and visual interest. This mug is finished with a delicate handle, complete with thumb rest.
The Rambouillet collection was designed by Jean Bertholle in 1955 at the request of the French President, Rene Coty. This hand-painted service was created to furnish the prestigious homes that hosted the Presidential Hunts. Made in France.
